Even Stevens Sandwiches, a new craft-casual restaurant incorporating the buy-one-give-one model, has hit a major milestone: 1 million sandwiches donated in just two and a half years of doing business. The brand, which operates 10 locations across UT, AZ and ID currently, has seen rapid success by prioritizing both customer experience and social impact in one bite.

Even Stevens Sandwiches, conceived by Utah-based social entrepreneur Steve Down, will donate their one millionth sandwich to one of many partnering non-profits in January of 2017. With their ambitious growth plans as a progressive “sandwich shop with a cause”, one million sandwiches isn't just a milestone for Even Stevens; it is a number they someday plan to hit daily:

“Every sandwich donated reflects the love and passion of our team members who create memorable experiences for our guests. This one millionth sandwich is a significant milestone toward serving and giving one million sandwiches each and every day when we grow to 3000 locations; a goal I hope to attain before I retire.” - Steve Down, Founder of Even Stevens. “For our success, I will forever thank for our guests, community partners, and the team members who live the “eat to give” philosophy every day.”

Every Even Stevens location will celebrate the event day-of by handing out commemorative pins, and engaging guests in conversation about their diverse range of donee non-profit partners. Creating impact, says Even Stevens, is the most powerful way to gain community advocacy.

“The partnership between Even Stevens and us has been invaluable in our fight against hunger in Utah. Between our St. Vincent de Paul Dining Hall in Salt Lake and our Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank in Northern Utah, Even Stevens has donated thousands of sandwiches so that Utah’s most vulnerable do not go hungry. We are proud to work with so many incredible organizations dedicated to helping those in need and congratulate Even Stevens on reaching one million donated sandwiches.” – Danielle Stamos , Catholic Community Services of Utah

Even Stevens, a Salt Lake City craft-casual restaurant, serves up sandwiches, salads, bites and local fair (beer, specialty coffee, bread, bakery sweets) unique to each store’s location. By offering fresh perspectives on nostalgic recipes, the “anti-cookie cutter” brand honors tradition while leaving an open door for creativity.

Beyond creating a craft dining experience for guests, the brand donates a sandwich to a local non-profit partner for every sandwich sold. Since their conception in 2014, they are now donating more than 10,000 sandwiches per month within each market. Allowing non-profit partners to save cash on feeding clients and instead direct their resources towards life-changing programs."
