As part of its annual “Warm the Soles” initiative, America First Credit Union hosted pizza parties and provided new, gift-wrapped shoes to more than 1500 underprivileged students in Utah. America First employees visited several schools in December including Midvale Elementary, Dixie Sun Elementary, Lakeview Elementary, Hurricane Elementary and Hill Air Force Base to hand out shoes and host a festive holiday celebration, complete with Santa Claus and pizza.
Celebrating its 23rd year of the “Warm the Soles” project, the credit union works to raise funds and donations from members throughout November and December to purchase shoes for children in need during the holiday season. The project is coordinated through America First’s 501(c)3 volunteer service arm, the America First Credit Union Charitable Foundation.
Over the past three years, America First has helped to provide nearly 5,000 pairs of shoes for children in need through generous donations from employees and members, as well as funds generated through the “Skip-A-Payment” program.
