It’s not very often you see competitors join forces, but in the case of automotive dealerships in Weber County, the timing just seemed right and in November the Weber Dealers Association was born.

The goals of the association are simple.  Educate consumers of the importance of shopping and buying in Weber County and strengthen our communities.  Weber County automobile dealerships employ thousands of individuals in our communities, providing much needed income to those families that you call neighbors.  In addition to providing reliable incomes to those families, auto dealerships ensure necessary tax revenues are generated for our communities.  That means improving our roads and bridges, providing for better education, parks and recreations, human and public services.  The Weber Dealers Association’s goal is to drive revenue back to Weber County and help the communities we live in.

Think of your last motor vehicle purchase.  Did you buy in the Ogden-Weber area?  Where you decide to shop and buy your new vehicle has a huge impact on your local economy.  Let’s say the average vehicle costs $30,000.  When you purchase your new vehicle, you choose which community gets approximately $720 of community revenue you just generated.  If you purchase out of your community, those revenues are gone forever.  Revenues that would help pay teachers, firemen or policemen, or money for our roads and bridges.  If 250 Weber County residents a month follow this same practice we are giving someone else’s community $180,000 per month, or over $2,000,000 of revenue a year that could help our communities and you.

“That’s just tax revenue,” said Jesse Johnson, director of marketing for Cutrubus Automotive Team.  “Almost all of our dealerships are locally owned. All of that money would stay here (in Weber County) and it becomes a multiplier when people shop here.”

Imagine what your community could do with an extra $2 million.

Proud Members of the Weber Dealers Association include Cutrubus Wasatch Front Kia, Hertz Used Car Sales, John Watson Chevrolet, Ken Garff Buick-GMC Riverdale, Ken Garff Honda Riverdale, Ken Garff Nissan Riverdale, Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Riverdale, Tony Divino Toyota, Westland Ford, and Westland Hyundai.  The dealerships of the Weber Dealers association don’t see each other as competition, but as a community.  A community encouraging all of us to #buyweber.
