The League of Women Voters of Davis County and the League of Women Voters of Weber County will join in hosting a Q&A with Representative Tim Hawkes of Centerville 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 12, at the South West Weber County Library, 2039 W 4000 S, Roy, UT 84067.. Representative Hawkes has served in the Utah House of Representatives since January 2015 and was recently appointed House Rules Committee Chair for the 2019 Legislative Session. He has organized legislators from northern Utah into a caucus which meets to consider legislation impacting counties in northern portion of the state. Hawkes will explain the purpose and accomplishments of the caucus, give us a preview of issues he expects to be addressed by the 2019 legislature, and answer questions from the audience.

This is a great opportunity for citizens of Davis and Weber Counties to interact with a state legislator and learn more about issues the legislature will be addressing in 2019. Some expected topics are: initiatives passed by voters in 2018, education funding, state budget surplus, and impacts of population increase. This meeting is open to the public. Questions are welcomed.
