Wasatch Peaks Credit Union hosted their annual Warm the Soles fundraising program to benefit children living right here in Weber County. With thanks to their members and employees in their joint effort, Wasatch Peaks raised $13,542.37 and donated nearly 500 pairs of shoes to children in the Ogden and Weber School Districts. They are grateful to have worked with the Nike Factory Store in Farmington to provide these shoes for local students who may have otherwise gone without adequate footwear for winter.

Employees of Wasatch Peaks delivered shoes to local elementary schools, including T.O. Smith, Burch Creek, Gramercy, Washington Terrace, Roosevelt, James Madison, Municipal, and North Park Elementary Schools.

“It is awesome to be able to work with someone like Wasatch Peaks who has connections to places like Nike,” said Tanner Koons, United Way and Ogden School District Family and Youth Specialist. “With their help we are able to make sure students are coming to school with shoes on their feet ready to learn and excel in academics to further their education and open doors for whatever opportunities come their way. We need more partnerships like Wasatch Peaks to further the work in the community and Live United.”

Wasatch Peaks is actively involved with the community and is looking forward to participating in Warm the Soles again next year. Thanks to the generous donations received by employees and members, they are planning to help more of our local children in the coming year.
